Janaki Mandir situated in
the Mithila to be the palace
of king Janak - Father of goddess Sita.
According to legends,
during the Ramayana
period, Kind janak rules
the area called Videha. It
is believed that Janaki who
is also known as goddess
Sita is said to have been discovered by Kind Janak
while ploughing the field.
The temple is known as 'Nau Lakha
Mandir' as the construction of the temple
was the same amount of money: nine
lkhas (nine hundred thousand).
